CodeRed Alerts
CodeRED Alerts: We are finding, with the need to notify residents of emergency situations in the Village, that not all people have access to a computer for Facebook or the website. Because of this, we are planning to use the Columbia County nine hundred eleven as a means to notify people through home telephone or cell phone alerts. This would require people to either go online at www.columbiacounty911.com/codered.html to sign-up for alerts or to sign up at the annual Columbia County Fair at the Columbia County nine hundred eleven Booth. If you are incapable to access a computer or get to the Fair, forms will be available at the Village Clerk’s window and we can process the forms online for you. Proposed Zoning Switches for the Village of Chatham
Some area residents and Planning and Zoning Board Members have, over the past year, created and submitted proposed zoning switches for the Village of Chatham. We have fastened seven (7) recommended revisions for your review. We do not have an existing colored zoning map for a comparison, however, you can look under “Community” on our website and see an interactive map that will do a lay-over of the zones as they exist now. We will be planning a Public Hearing in the next few months for Village of Chatham residents to express any concerns, questions, or issues.
Outdoor Water Meters
We have learned something fresh about the outdoor water meters. If you reach 999.9 gallons, the meter will reset itself. Please either send a picture of the meter reading or bring it to me to reset. We are in a learning process and attempting to work out the kinks. Sorry for the inconvenience of this fresh system. You can always feel free to contact the office about this fresh turn of events.
