How to Get Airtime Facebook Movie Talk Service
Facebook users: If you’re looking for a joy and plain way to movie talk with your friends (or strangers), then you’re in luck.
The duo behind Napster, Sean Parker and Shawn Fanning, just launched Airtime, dubbed the "most efficient, effortless to use, browser-based movie talk service." Airtime lets you movie talk with Facebook friends, witness YouTube movies together, and connect with people you don’t know, based on locations, mutual friends, and collective interests.
Yesterday’s Fresh York press launch attracted a number of celebrities, including Jimmy Fallon, Olivia Munn, Snoop Dogg, Joel McHale, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Ed Helms, and Alicia Keys. But does it work? And how do you get it? Check out the steps below to commence talking.
- Head over to Airtime.com
- Click the teal-colored button in the middle of the screen that says "Launch Airtime"
- Click "Log In with Facebook"
- Click "Permit," which gives Airtime permission to access your Facebook friends’ contact information, posts in your newsfeed, and Facebook Talk
- An Adobe Flash Player Settings menu will pop up, asking for permission for Airtime to access your computer’s camera and microphone. Click "Permit"
- Save your settings (optional)
- Get talking by selecting someone from your Facebook friends list, someone nearby, someone with common interests, or friends of friends.
The user interface has three panes, with you on the left side, your talk fucking partner in the middle, and your entire Facebook friends list at the far right side of the screen. After signing in, you can commence a movie talk by locating a friend in the list on the right side, and clicking the movie camera icon next to their name. To meet someone fresh, click "Talk to Someone" in the middle pane.
Airtime is downright Web-based, so it doesn’t require you to download any software to your computer. To use Airtime, you’ll just need to be at least thirteen years old with an active Facebook account. Airtime requires Adobe Flash Ten.Three or higher, and a Webcam-equipped computer with the following system requirements: a 1.5-Ghz processor, 512MB RAM, and 1.5Mbps bandwidth.
For more information, head over to Airtime’s FAQ page, where you’ll find instructions for editing your profile, troubleshooting tips, and security information.
If you don’t want Airtime posting things on your Facebook timeline and newsfeed, you can turn off this option in the "Account" tab of the Airtime profile editing window. To get there, click on the "Edit" button next to your name, then click "Account," and uncheck "Publish Open Graph Deeds."
