Using Netflix on your Windows App
Welcome to Netflix on your Windows App! Use this article to learn about Netflix features and how to set up and sign out of your account. If you’re hesitant if your device supports Netflix, go after the steps on the “Set up Netflix” tab to attempt to locate the Netflix app. The Netflix app is available on Windows eight and later.
Netflix Features
This section details features on the Netflix app downloaded from the Windows Store. See Using Netflix on your Windows computer if you’re streaming Netflix through a web browser.
Windows 8
Netflix streaming features on the Windows eight App include:
Netflix is available on Windows eight in all regions where Netflix is available.
- Browse genre columns: Click or tap on a genre title to browse TV shows and movies.
- Search: Click on the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner to access search.
- TV Display or Movie Pages: Hover over a TV demonstrate or movie poster to get a pop-up with information such as a brief synopsis, year(s) produced, or maturity rating. Clicking on the title within the pop-up will take you to the utter information page for that TV display or movie.
- Playback: Tap or click on a poster to begin playing a TV display or movie. While a title is playing, use the scroll bar at the bottom of the app screen to see more options. To exit movie playback, click in the upper left palm corner of the movie and select the back button.
- Cortana Integration: On Windows 8.1+, use Microsoft’s Cortana voice search to find titles! Example: "Netflix, find Bojack Horseman."
Windows eight supports streaming in 1080p.
Windows eight supports subtitles and alternate audio on select titles or Five.1 surround sound when available. Select the Subtitles and Alternate Audio icon at the bottom of the screen to configure subtitle and alternate language audio.
Windows Ten
Netflix streaming features on the Windows ten App include:
Netflix is available on Windows ten in all regions where Netflix is available.
- Browse genre columns: Click or tap on a genre title to browse TV shows and movies.

- TV Demonstrate or Movie Pages: Hover over a TV display or movie poster to get a pop-up with information such as a brief synopsis, year(s) produced, or maturity rating. Clicking on the title within the pop-up will take you to the utter information page for that TV display or movie.
- Playback: Tap or click on a poster to begin playing a TV showcase or movie. While a title is playing, use the scroll bar at the bottom of the app screen to see more options. To exit movie playback, click in the upper left forearm corner of the movie and select the back button.
- Cortana Integration: Use Microsoft’s Cortana voice search to find titles! Example: "Netflix, find Bojack Horseman."
The Windows ten app supports streaming in up to 4K*.
Downloaded titles are available up to 1080p.
*Streaming in 4K requires an HDCP Two.Two compliant connection to a 4K capable display, Intel’s 7th generation Core CPU, and the latest Windows updates. Check with the manufacturer of your system to verify specifications.
