How to Use Google Voice With a Headset
You can connect your Google Voice account to Gmail, enabling you to make phone calls through your Google Voice number using a headset connected to your computer. Once Google Voice is connected to the Google Talk service built into Gmail, all calls made from the Gmail interface using a headset will be made using your Google Voice number. Configuration takes only a few moments because Gmail automatically recognizes USB and analog headsets.
Log into your Gmail account.
Click "Call Phone" in the Google Talk contact list and make a single phone call to activate the Google Talk voice service.
Log into Google Voice and click the settings icon at the top right, then select "Voice Settings."
Click the check box beside "Google Talk" to route Google Voice calls through Google Talk.
Connect a headset to your computer and come back to Gmail.
Click "Call Phone" again and place a call using Google Talk. The call will be made through your Google Voice number and that number will be displayed on caller ID.
