1. Do I have to Jailbreak the target device?

NO – WebWatcher does not require you to "jailbreak" the target iPhone or iPad. Jailbreaking is no only complicated, but also voids the devices warranty, and if the device upgrades to a newer version of iOS in the future, the jailbreak will be wiped out. With WebWatcher, all you need is the Apple ID and Password (same username and password used to download a fresh app from the Apple App Store) for the iCloud account of the target iPhone or iPad you are authorized to monitor. Beware of competitors that require you to "jailbreak" the target device.

Two. Is the device I want to monitor compatible with WebWatcher?

WebWatcher for iOS is compatible with devices running iOS 8.0 or later.

While we make every effort to upgrade to be compatible with fresh operating systems, WebWatcher cannot ensure compatibility with future operating systems. Refunds will not be issued if the target device uses an unsupported operating system that is NOT listed above. See Refund Policy

Three. Do I need to download anything to the target device?

NO – As long as iCloud Backup is turned on (which it is by default). All you need is the Apple ID and Password of the target device you are authorized to monitor.

*If iCloud Backup is turned off at any point, you will need to re-enable iCloud Backup on the target device by following these steps:

Four. How long does it take for recorded data to display in my account?

Recorded data will begin to display in your WebWatcher account once every twenty four hours after the last iCloud Backup (iOS nine data is available on request once every twenty four hours). Automatic iCloud backups occur when the following screenplays occur at the same time on the target iOS device:

  1. Connected to WiFi
  2. Plugged into a power source (charging)
  3. Home screen is locked

Five. What do I have to do for iCloud to back up?

An iCloud Backup occurs once every twenty four hours if iCloud Backup is enable (which it is by default) and if the device is plugged into a power source, home screen is locked, is connected to WiFi, and if there is available iCloud Storage*.

How to determine the last iCloud Backup:

Settings > iCloud > Backup > Last Backup Time

How to verify if the device is connected to WiFi:

Settings > WiFi > ON (green)

5GB of iCloud Storage is default on an iOS device (Apple offers 50GB of storage for $0.99/month). WebWatcher will stop working if iCloud Storage reaches 0GB on the target iOS device.

6. Do I have to buy WebWatcher from the same device I want to monitor?

NO – WebWatcher can be purchased from any device. All you need is the Apple ID and Password of the target device you are authorized to monitor.

7. Does WebWatcher record Deleted Text Messages?

WebWatcher records most deleted SMS text messages and iMessages on an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. These deleted text messages include those that have been liquidated prior to the latest iCloud backup.

*WebWatcher captures both the content and the time-stamp of deleted text messages (sender and recipient data is not presently captured.

8. Does WebWatcher work on Tablets?

YES – WebWatcher for iOS is compatible with all iOS devices (including iPads) running iOS 8.0 or later. WebWatcher is also compatible with Android tablets running Android Two.1 or later.

9. Does WebWatcher record Website History in Safari Private Browsing mode?

NO – Website History cannot be captured if Private Browsing is enabled in Safari.

Ten. If I want to monitor more than one device, do I need to buy another license?

YES – An individual license is required for every device (computer or phone) that you are authorized to monitor. Volume discounts are available on orders of three or more licenses.

After purchasing numerous license, recorded data for all can be viewed together in the same secure online account.
